Prompt #1 (October 6): What is the “truth” of mythology?

The general term “mythology” encompasses the stories that a culture creates to understand the truth of the world they live in and their place within it. From a personal standpoint, it is about understanding who we are and where we fit in our world experience. What is the "truth" of mythology as we have studied it? What truth have you learned from our investigations? What personal truths have been revealed to you?

The "truth" of mythology from what i understand can only be found if you find what truth means and what you believe in. In our society today we are told many things that we assume to be true becuase its on a commercial or in the news. We are brought up to beleive that what we are told by our parents and society is the truth. Truth itself can become what you make it up to be. What im saying is that truth might not be the truth but if you have faith in what you beleive to be the truth, then why shouldnt it be the truth? Just look at religions, we beleive that what we have faith in is the truth right? Without any "truth" at all would we know what we beleive to be the truth today really be the truth? Truth is what you make it.
